This year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (9th to 16th May) focuses on the significant impact that feeling lonely can play in our mental wellbeing.

For disabled people, feelings of loneliness can be overwhelming. Many people supported by Dogs for Good tell us they rarely left the house or spoke to new people before being partnered with a dog. Partnership with a dog can be life-transforming.

As part of our partnership with MORE THAN Pet Insurance, we’ve launched the Paws for a Smile campaign to highlight the positive impact that dogs play in helping us feel connected and part of a community.

If you have a dog in your life, we’d love to hear about your experiences. Take part in our short survey below and help us understand more about the ways dogs help us to reduce feelings of loneliness, as well as any challenges that having a dog can bring to meeting people.
